About Your Session

If getting a massage for the first time makes you nervous, you are not alone.  Many people have their first massage experience when they receive a gift certificate to a salon or from family or a friend.  Some people don’t even use the gift certificate because they are anxious about what will happen and the finer points of massage etiquette.

  • New clients should arrive at least 15 minutes before your massage appointment so you will have time to complete a client profile.
  • Turn your cell phone to vibrate or off if it’s not needed.
  • Please call 440-975-2920 if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
  • Late arrivals may not receive a full service and will be billed for the full service.  Arriving early will allow you to enjoy every minute of your session.
  • It is recommended to schedule your next appointment prior to leaving.
  • Gratuity is not included in the pricing.  It is not required or expected, but if it is offered it is greatly appreciated.
  • No one under the age of 18 may receive a massage without a parent or legal guardian present.

Get the Most From Your Massage

  • Talk.  Let your practitioner know what your needs are.
    • Report any discomfort throughout the massage and give feedback during the massage to make it yours.
    • If the massage is too light or too hard, ask to have the pressure changed.  Some massage techniques are only light, but asking is appropriate.
    • Let me know before the session has started if specific areas are tense or ache.
    • If you become cold on the massage table, please tell me right away.  Usually if a person becomes chilled, it is nearly impossible for him/her to relax.
  • Breath.  Breathing helps facilitate relaxation and can help you get the most out of a massage.
  • Relax.  Tightening up is counter productive to your massage.  Let your practitioner know if you are having trouble relaxing.
  • Drink water.  Drinking plenty of water after your massage helps eliminate toxins released during your massage.
  • Schedule.  Massage has the greatest benefits over time.  The effects of massage are cumulative.  So the more often a person gets a massage, the better he or she will feel and the more quickly your body will respond.
